Position Summary

The BSN-IH Program Coordinator is responsible for the operational facets of the program and functions as one of the nursing faculty. Responsibilities include collaborating with the General Nursing and Health Education Division Director to develop, implement, and evaluate the new program and support curriculum and program accreditation. This is a fiscal appointment (year round).

The successful applicant will also hold a faculty position, in which rank will be determined by the Faculty Appointment, Promotion and Tenure committee.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assume primary accountability for operationalization of the BSN-Integrative Health curriculum and program in compliance with accreditation standards and Arizona Board of Nursing.
  • Lead the continuing development of courses in the BSN-IH program.
  • Serve as the liaison for the program with college, university and external partners.
  • Oversee clinical placement requests, adequacy, and match to curricular plan and collaborate with business partner to ensure appropriate clinical sites are secured.
  • Manage core online, laboratory, or clinical faculty to ensure orientation and mentoring of new faculty and adequate coverage for all courses (may also be asked to participate in recruitment and interviewing of applicants for faculty positions).
  • With the Division Director, determine course chairs and orient them to role and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with business partner to ensure clinical adjunct faculty recruitment, hiring, and training for clinical and laboratory learning experiences.
  • Manage faculty issues/questions as to course teaching/learning or curriculum.
  • Convene faculty as required for coordination of levels, courses, classes and extra learning opportunities.
  • Convene faculty at least once per year to assess for any changes to the curriculum and supervise the updating of curriculum to include evaluation and revision of courses through the curriculum committee and Division Director.
  • Participate in student admission selection, oversee orientation, advising and progression activities.
  • Manage student issues related to course faculty or program in concert with the administrative facilitator where necessary.
  • Ensure that program is evaluated according to College evaluation plan (including expected student outcome data obtained from courses/levels) and data are collated at the end of each semester.
  • There may be additional duties assigned as it relates to this position.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Nursing or health-related field.
  • Four (4) or more years teaching experience in a professional nursing education program.
  • Curriculum development experience.
  • Provide evidence/receipt of a Registered Nursing License in the state of Arizona prior to first day of employment with the College of Nursing.
  • Requirement for a faculty appointment (rank to be determined).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree (PhD, EdD, or DNP).
  • Experience in administration within a professional nursing education program.
  • Experience teaching online.
  • Strategic planning as related to program coordination.
  • Management and budget experience.
