Position Summary

To contribute technical support in a research environment to research involving molecular plant pathogen-insect vector interactions and diagnostics for plant virus-fastidious bacterial pathogens.

Duties & Responsibilities

The selected candidate(s) will:

Assist approximately part time with planting and maintaining insect colonies, assist with insect bioassay and transmission studies.

Participate in routine discussions with
the PI and project research team, assist in summarizing results.

Conduct literature searches.

Assist with placing orders for supplies and reagents, and inventories.

Three years of related laboratory or field research experience; OR,any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

• B.S. or B. A. degree
• Ability to work independently once
trained
• Good organizational skills
• Proof of record keeping skills
• Effective communication skills
• Motivated to work in a professional
research environment
• Commitment to work independently or
with others, as a team member.
