Position Summary | The School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences (ACBS) at the University of Arizona is recruiting to fill a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position (70% research, 20% instruction, 10% service). We invite applications from individuals who conduct physiological studies in large animal models to address compelling problems in biomedical sciences and/or agriculture. A candidate whose research program integrates molecular and physiological approaches to carry out high-quality research in physiology, nutrition, or metabolism will be highly competitive. The University of Arizona is the state’s land-grant university and ranked among the top 20 public research universities nationwide. College of Agriculture & Life Sciences is world-renowned for fundamental and applied research that includes vibrant programs in Animal Systems and One Health. The candidate will be expected to develop a strong, extramurally funded research program that complements existing disciplines and faculty in ACBS, as well as cross-disciplinary collaborations, particularly with faculty located on the medical campus. The new faculty member will join a highly productive and innovative group of faculty working to advance areas related to perinatal biology, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, and reproduction. Other expectations of this position are to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including a course for majors and an upper level elective in the candidate’s area of expertise, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and serve the academic and professional communities.
