Position Summary

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at The University of Arizona is seeking a highly motivated individual for a full time research scientist, senior position. This position could start immediately in the area of microwave thermoacoustic imaging.

Duties & Responsibilities

In this proposed work, a thermoacoustic imaging and focused microwave treatment system will be developed. It will develop thermoacoustic imaging and focused microwave treatment for early breast cancer detection and treatment. The candidate will be working in a multidisciplinary team environment in the area of hardware design, implementation, and testing at the University of Arizona. The assembled team consists of members with strong expertise in microwave engineering, thermoacoustic imaging, microwave instrumentation and simulation, etc. The candidate is expected to lead the simulation and modeling tasks for all aspect of the proposed system and work closely with other team members.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Successful candidates should have strong motivation and have strong background in multi-physics modeling and simulation, thermal induced acoustic imaging or related biomedical imaging areas.

Minimum Qualifications

A degree in Physics, EE, or other related area with 10+ years of experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

The following experiences will be a plus: MATLAB and C / C++ programing, biomedical image processing algorithms, microwave engineering, 3D printing technologies, antenna designs, high power microwave instrumentation, ultrasound imaging, and electromagnetic and ultrasound modeling.
