CAPLA is seeking a new member of the College Business Service Center to provide financial and transactional support for the College’s faculty, staff, and students and will be responsible for a wide range of duties from reconciling Pcards to cash handling. The Accountant, Associate position will work under the supervision of the Business Manager and have excellent knowledge of UA policies and procedures as well as UAccess Financial transaction protocols. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, self- starting individual who enjoys working in a team environment and demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.

The College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture supports the UA’s diversity and inclusiveness strategic initiatives designed to create an inclusive environment for all faculty, staff, and students. Duties & Responsibilities

•Reconcile Pcard transactions and prepare monthly Pcard submittals to FSO; reconcile PCard bank statements. Ensure accuracy of transactions.
•Review and trace accounting errors and make necessary corrections.
•Prepare requisitions and purchase orders.
•Ensure funds are available before processing expenditures.
•Responsible for cash handling and check processing
•Manage College cell phone contracts and employee stipends.
•Prepare Transactions GEC, DI, SET, DV, Travel, PO’s using UACCESS.
•Prepare UA Foundation transactions
•Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications

•Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
•Demonstrated ability to learn and understand University financial system.
•Skill in maintaining and reconciling accounting and financial records.
•Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping practices and principles.
•Work within time constraints and deadlines.

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related area with accounting coursework; OR, four years of progressively responsible and diverse accounting experience and coursework in which a broad exposure to all areas of accounting and accounting principles, practices and procedures was acquired; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience with University of Arizona business systems and processes.
•Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Experience creating reports in UAccess Analytics.
