Position Summary

The University of Arizona Health Sciences is seeking a highly motivated Program Coordinator, Seniors to perform functions related to the design and implementation of study protocols in the All of Us Research Program (AoU RP) and other domestic and international clinical research initiatives.

The Program Coordinator, Senior will work in conjunction with the Associate Director for Clinical Research and Global Health Initiatives, as well as liaise with the full spectrum of study personnel including enrolment sites clinical research managers, clinical site PIs and research coordinators, to manage and implement study operations associated with the University of Arizona clinical research programs.

This position will require travel within Tucson on a regular basis. With notice, occasional travel to our other sites in Arizona and, less frequently, out-of-state travel may be required.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Associate Director of Clinical Research & Global Health Initiatives and provide leadership support to create seamless project execution for all entities associated with the Global Research Initiatives supported in conjunction with the UAHS.
  • Support and coordinate the activities of the research team including arranging program travel, scheduling meetings and track program activities in the AoU RP and other clinical research initiatives.
  • Monitor the program operations and needs of various clinical sites associated with the AoU RP and other UAHS clinical research projects.
  • Ensure that study operations are conducted to SOPs and contribute to ongoing revision/improvement of program goals and objectives.
  • Set-up and manage processes for procurement, organization and shipment of program related supplies and equipment.
  • Develop presentations and present at Investigator meetings and training workshops associated with AoU RP enrollment sites and international clinical research sites and personnel. Ensure that any recommendations are discussed and that solutions are incorporated.
  • Serve as an available “Point of Contact” for investigators and research staff on matters relating to assigned projects.
  • Confer with and advise staff, students and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers to questions and program goals and policy interpretation; refers to appropriate department person when unable to respond.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness to develop improved methods; devise evaluation methodology and implements; analyze results and recommend and/or take appropriate action.

Bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND four years of administrative/coordinative program experience; OR, Master’s degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND three years of administrative/ coordinative program experience; OR, eight years of progressively responsible administrative/ coordinative program experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in related field
  • Experience working with academic units in University Teaching Hospitals or academic medical center
  • Experience in Public Health related discipline, particularly as it relates to global settings and/or diverse populations
  • Understanding of clinical research processes and policies associated with study implementation
  • Strong organization, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a team environment with changing demands
