Position Summary

The AZ Student Unions, is seeking a part-time Dining Services Attendant to join our team. This position is located in Concessions at athletic events and is responsible for performing various duties necessary in the preparation or service of food.

This is a part time position and is primarily an "On Call or “As Needed” position.

The Arizona Student Unions consist of both the Student Union Memorial Center (SUMC) and the Park Student Union, as well as Highland Market and a number of convenience stores and food stops around campus. In addition to campus dining services and catering, the Arizona Student Unions also run mall scheduling, concessions at athletic events, Fast Copy & Design, the Union Galleries, Games Room, the Gallagher Theatre, a Wells Fargo, and a Post Office Contract Unit.

The Student Union Memorial Center is one of the largest student unions in the United States. At a size of 405,000 square feet, SUMC contains everything students need – restaurants, retail spaces, lounges, study/meeting rooms, a computer lab, art gallery, and a movie theater. SUMC is often referred to as the “living room” of the University. With Student Engagement, dining services, retail services and more, we strive to provide a “home away from home” to balance the diverse educational, recreational, cultural and social needs of today’s student.

Duties & Responsibilities

Event Duties:

  • Takes orders from customers and fills them to the customers’ satisfaction
  • Keeps work area clean and ensures all temperatures are correct
  • Adheres to all Student Union policies and procedures
  • Attends all required training
  • Adheres to all Pima County Health Department standards
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment

Customer Service:

  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Provides suggestions and input to Supervisor

Sanitation:

  • Prevents cross contamination of food products
  • Ensures food items are labeled and stored properly
  • Ensures counters, sneeze guards, walls, shelves, drain screens and floor mats are properly cleaned
  • Ensures all utensils are cleaned and stored properly
  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds
  • Ability to frequently reach, bend, lift, push, pull and/or carry while performing normal job functions

  • Ability to effectively communicate
  • Ability to walk up and down stadium/venue steps for duration of shift
