The department of Steward Observatory seeks to fill the position of a Project Manager. The selected candidate will provide support to a wide variety of scientific, development, and communication programs for the EHT PIRE Project and the Theoretical Astrophysics Program.

Duties & Responsibilities

For the EHT PIRE Project:
• Prepare and track schedules, budgets, and task lists from inception to successful completion of tasks.
• Oversee the overall logistics of the exchange visits of students between the various partner institutions and of the summer schools.
• Responsible for organizing and coordinating webinars and management meetings, maintaining collaboration tools, and archiving the results of educational activities.
• Oversee day-to-day financial transactions at UA with assistance from the UA administrative structure and resources in the College of Science and central Sponsored Research Services unit.
• May supervise staff.

For the Theoretical Astrophysics Program:

• Prepare and track schedules, budgets, and task lists from inception to successful completion of projects.
• Assist in the preparation of TAP-wide collaborative proposals.
• Oversee day-to-day financial transactions for the PIRE with assistance from the UA administrative structure and resources in the College of Science and central Sponsored Research Services unit.
• May supervise staff.

Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience with Project Proposals
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 5 to 8 years of directly comparable experience.
