The School of Anthropology in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) is accepting applications for a Business Manager position. The selected candidates will need to successfully manage grants, course fees, and many other complex business and financial matters. The successful candidate will independently manage and control accounting, budgeting, auditing and other financial or related functions to ensure the integrity of the School. It is important that the candidates be able to perform these tasks at a high level, and be prepared to perform these responsibilities right away. The position will dual report to the SBS Assistant Dean of Finance and the Director of the School of Anthropology.

Business personnel in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences work to provide excellent business support to administrators, faculty, staff, and students. They work in a collaborative environment to provide reporting, processes, and customer service. A successful candidate has a high level of technical competency, dedication to a team approach, accuracy of work, timeliness, and excellent communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Perform all day-to-day business functions in the School of Anthropology on both UA and Foundation accounts. These include, but not limited to, disbursements, travel transactions, account maintenance and reconciliation, procurement, fund transfers, payroll, and Pcard transactions.
•Perform human resources functions. These include, but not limited to, personnel hiring, job and employee data changes, and leaves and termination processing.
•Financial forecasting, financial planning, and any other business matters.
•Prepare high level financial and budget reports.
•Perform payroll activities.
•Establish efficient business practices and keeping up to date with policies, regulations, and procedures.
•Assist faculty and graduate students with grant proposal preparation and post-award management, including effort reporting and cost sharing.
•Additional duties may be assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field AND two years of related budget and accounting experience; OR, six years of progressively responsible budgeting and accounting experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
