Position Summary

The Arizona Area Health Education Centers (AzAHEC) Program Office seeks a Program Manager who will be responsible for monitoring project activities and progress and independently implementing new or revised program goals and objects.

Arizona AHEC focuses on developing integrated, sustainable statewide health professions workforce education programs with emphasis on primary care and increasing access in Arizona’s rural and underserved communities by improving the supply, quality, diversity and distribution of the health professions workforce. This focus is accomplished in collaboration with the five statewide Arizona AHEC regional centers, the University of Arizona (UA) College of Medicine – Tucson, the UA College of Medicine – Phoenix, the UA College of Nursing, the UA College of Pharmacy, the UA Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, and other statewide organizations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and schedule project work plans in accordance with specifications.
  • Prepare or assist in preparation of proposals and reports.
  • Utilize Sales Force database.
  • Develop and utilize Qualtrics to obtain standardized information.
  • Analyze data in order to identify needed corrections and assure quality and timeliness of input.
  • Conduct data-related inquiries to support Program Office initiatives.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the AzAHEC Director and Associate Director, monitor project activities and progress ensuring that deadlines are met and reports are received in a timely manner.
  • Develop, maintain and/or independently implement new or revised program goals and objectives.
  • Develop and schedule project work plans in accordance with specifications.
  • Work with University personnel, regional AHEC centers personnel, RHPP project directors, and other constituents to obtain needed information; Identify information that requires follow-up.
  • Utilize SalesForce database including review of data received. Duties may include uploads and direct data entry. Identify data points that require follow up and correction. Identify needed updates to data manual to reflect new/improved processes.
  • Coordinate and produce data reports using various data-mining techniques.
  • Prepare draft responses to questions from constituents; as appropriate, develop, compile and write effectively to with constituents to convey or obtain information.
  • Other duties as assigned, including work directly related to general business operations – administrative functions.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of organizational practices; ability to work with academic and administrative staff.
  • Ability to utilize complex data and information derived from multiple sources.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND four years of administrative/coordinative program experience; OR, eight years of progressively responsible administrative/coordinative program experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data using Excel and other software tools and data bases.
  • Five years progressively responsible work in the collection of data necessary for federal grant reports.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a health profession or related field.
  • Experience working with datasets in health profession disciplines.
  • Experience working in a health profession education environment.
