Position Summary

The Student Affairs Systems Group (SASG) provides desktop and infrastructure support, website and application development and hosting, and data analysis and reporting services and serves over 23 departments in Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. The person for this position will be part of a dynamic, quick-paced programming team. This person will be responsible for creating new applications that will solve business workflow problems, automate business processes, and maintain existing applications and websites at the University of Arizona. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, able to multitask, and able to provide rapid implementation and deployment of business critical processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develops ASP.NET web-based applications using Microsoft Visual Studio
• Modifies existing code, writes new code, and deploys tested code to production
• Thoroughly tests new applications and code modifications
• Consults with business analysts and users regarding applications programming requests, applications training, user support and troubleshooting
• Troubleshoots and fixes problems in existing systems
• Develops and maintains technical documentation
• Implements and maintains compliance with current security and service protocols and standards

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of applications programming theory, principles and practices
• Skill in effectively communicating technical information to non-technical users
• Skill in analyzing users requests and working with co-workers to develop automated solutions
• Skill in writing technical documentation
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple, dynamic priorities
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience developing ASP.NET web-based applications using Microsoft Visual Studio
• Experience with ASP.NET MVC patterns and practices
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL)
• Experience in developing web-based applications
• Experience in full-stack web application development
• Experience implementing web application security

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in programming applications systems using current technology and programming languages; OR, Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field AND two years of applications systems programming experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
