Position Summary

The AZ Student Unions is looking for a full-time Dining Services Attendant, Senior to join our Starbucks team. This position will be located at one of our two Starbucks locations on campus: the Main Bookstore location or the Main Library location. As a Dining Services Attendant, Senior you will be expected to manage and direct a team of employees to create classic and unique Starbucks items while ensuring a safe and encouraging workplace. This will include scheduling, training, and mentoring of staff.

The Arizona Student Unions consist of both the Student Union Memorial Center (SUMC) and the Park Student Union, as well as Highland Market and a number of convenience stores and food stops around campus. In addition to campus dining services and catering, the Arizona Student Unions also run mall scheduling, concessions at athletic events, Fast Copy & Design, the Union Galleries, Games Room, the Gallagher Theatre, a Wells Fargo, and a Post Office Contract Unit.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the smooth operation of the unit including food production, staffing, operations, budgets and labor
  • Schedules and assigns duties to employees to ensure coverage is maintained at all times
  • Works closely with staff to evaluate employee skills and provide training as needed
  • Conducts interviews and hires staff and students as needed to fill position openings
  • Ensures staff meets Starbucks and Student Unions policies and procedures
  • Assists with inventory and receives, documents and stocks items received in unit
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Has knowledge of and actively monitors labor cost and food cost budget
  • Monitors and enforces sanitation principles to ensure they are maintained at all times
  • Any other duties as assigned by Manager

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, shakes, stirs, pours, carries and pushes
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of food service operations including sanitation standards and food preparation
  • Working knowledge of food service equipment
  • Skill in following oral and written communication
Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role
  • Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and electronic communications
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience in food service operation; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating commercial food service equipment
  • Previous experience working in a Starbucks location
