This position is for a Postdoctoral Research Associate I to participate in studies related to molecular and cellular biology of NHE8 transporters in physiological and pathophysiological conditions. Work will involve cell culture, immunological, molecular biological procedures and animal experiments. This position is located in the NIH-funded gastrointestinal research labs at the Steele Children’s Research Center. At the UA Steele Children’s Research Center, our physician-scientists and researchers are passionately dedicated to improving children’s health through basic science research, translational research and clinical research. As the research arm of the UA Department of Pediatrics, the Steele Center is one of the prestigious Centers of Excellence in the UA College of Medicine. Our researchers and physician-scientists conduct research in many areas, such as autism, autoimmune disorders, cancer and blood diseases, type 1 diabetes, GI disorders and lung disease, to name a few. Our researchers receive grant support from national funding agencies such as the National Institutes of Health, the CDC, foundations, non-profit organizations and community philanthropy.
