Position Summary

The McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship is seeking highly motivated candidates for our full-time Program Manager position. The primary focus of this position is the overall program management of all aspects of the McGuire Center’s Partner Program to offer our world-class entrepreneurship education at national and international partner locations. The responsibility for the operational and financial components of this program includes coordinating and executing assignments, coordination with the McGuire Center Director on budget projections, project planning, and external outreach. In addition, the role of the Program Manager is to support McGuire Center faculty and staff in administration, coordination, managing, event planning, and communications for assigned programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

Entrepreneurship Education Partner Program:
• Serve as the liaison from the McGuire Center to our domestic and international educational partners.
• Assist the McGuire Center Director with compiling and preparing program materials, providing information and preparing records and reports related to programs.
• Develop and implement targeted communication plan to stakeholders via web content and social media.
• Manage logistics for international & national course delivery, conferences and events.
• Coordinate with Director, faculty, staff, alumni, partners, sub-contractors, students, and external clients to identify the focus and scope of departmental events and to determine McGuire Center needs.
• Prepare all marketing materials for distribution to stakeholders for all partner programs.
• Manage McGuire communications and records, including answering correspondence and requests related to partnership activities; maintain filing system of conference materials, board minutes, brochures and a catalogue of all materials; solicit, organize and distribute all meeting documents and ensure those not present receive the documents.
• Track program activities and prepare reports for program implementation team and key stakeholders.
• Respond to phone calls and emails from employees, students, stakeholders and the general public related to assigned programs.
• Work with the business manager to order supplies and services, process vendor payments and employee reimbursements, reconcile transactions and monitor budgets.
• Assist the Director in implementation of all program strategic initiatives.
• Perform various administrative functions such as managing the distribution of McGuire materials and messages, provide new partner orientation materials, and update contact information.
• Support alumni relations activities.
• Manage communications with scholarship recipients.
• Coordinate the business coaching schedules and travel of student teams participating in business plan competitions.


General Center Support:
• Coordinate program marketing materials such as brochures or flyers from development to distribution.
• Create and curate program-related communications and promotional content for website, newsletters, social media, and marketing collateral under the guidance of the Communications Manager.
• Assist with the development of web and social media graphics.
• Assist with social media scheduling.
• Assist with newsletter content development and creation.
• Other duties related to assigned programs or other McGuire Center activities may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Strong writer and persuasive communicator with excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
• Skill in English composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
• Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse population at all levels.
• Ability to maintain a positive and constructive demeanor treating all staff, students, faculty and vendors with professionalism, courtesy and respect.
• Ability to organize, facilitate and lead meetings.
• Ability to problem solve and make decisions.
• Enjoys working independently or as part of a small, strong team to achieve program goals and objectives.
• Knowledge of basic accounting and budgeting principals and ability to create and use spreadsheets in programs such as MS Excel.
• Ability to research and apply policy.
• Highly detailed with strong organizational skills
• Self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Excellent computer skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years administrative/coordinative program experience; OR,
• Master’s degree in field appropriate to area of assignment ; OR,
• Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Human Resources.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with similar duties or programs in an academic entrepreneurship center.
• Experience with event planning and coordination, including vendor contracts.
• Experience in graphic design, social media and email marketing, or website content management systems.
• Experience using any of the following or similar: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Drupal CMS, MailChimp or other email marketing software, and Hootsuite or other social media management software.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience using UAccess, the UA’s internal business software platform.
• Experience in facilitating decision making and conflict resolution.
