The Department of Communication, University of Arizona, invites applications for a tenure eligible assistant professor to start in Fall 2018. We hope to hire a scholar whose work complements other related areas of focus in our department (intercultural/intergroup, health, technology, interpersonal, political), and who will contribute to the department’s exemplary and nationally recognized research record, teaching mission, and outreach. We seek individuals who can work with diverse students and colleagues and who have experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives. The department is seeking to hire in the specific area of Organizational Communication.

The successful candidate will emphasize organizational communication in their teaching and research and take a social scientific approach to research in their area of specialization using quantitative and/or qualitative methods.

Successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in Communication or related discipline, evidence of a strong research program, and a record of teaching excellence. ABD candidates will be considered, but the doctorate must be in hand by the start date. Candidates with a record or potential for obtaining external research funding are also preferred. Candidates whose research, teaching, and/or service/outreach include underrepresented student or community populations will be given preference. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Communication or related discipline (ABD candidates will be considered, but the doctorate must be in hand by the start date)
  • Research that focuses on organizational communication
Preferred Qualifications
  • Research, teaching, and/or service/outreach center on nonprofit organizations and/or underrepresented student or community populations are preferred.
