Position Summary

The University Information Technology Services department provides a wide range of technology services across campus. The successful candidate will join the Student and Academic Technologies team, which provides support for a number of different enterprise-level systems utilized in all aspects of technology related to teaching and learning.

This position will provide direct implementation and support for the University’s Adobe Experience Manager digital asset management solution. As the systems this individual will be responsible for grow, they will provide enhancements and customizations both through the administrative features of the system and through development of new functionalities via API calls and JavaServer Pages development.

The Applications System Analyst/Developer, Senior will require project management and analysis in order to understand the requirements of Colleges and Departments adopting an enterprise system. This position will be responsible for development of the requirements collected, the testing of the new functionality and the direct , one-to-one, training of the functionality to the campus stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Evaluates current functionality, designs and develops custom enhancements.
• Consults with management and stakeholders to determine goals and objectives, and then designs customizations to meet them.
• Develops application enhancements leveraging API and web services.
• Oversees the implementation of required hardware and software components for approved applications.
• Coordinates tests of the application system to ensure proper performance.
• Creates diagrams and flow charts that exhibit architecture and functionality.
• Investigates errors, diagnoses problems and recommends solutions.
• Evaluates and tests enterprise software applications, compiles data and produces relevant reports.
• Researches and prepares written and verbal recommendations regarding the use of various technologies to management and stakeholders.
• Works with other team members to provide training for other personnel and create networks of application users within or across organizations.
• Using principles of applications system development, analyzes, tests, implements, maintains and documents IT projects.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• A strong background using principles and best practices of applications system development to analyze, test, implement, maintain and document IT projects.
• Demonstrated experience developing application enhancements leveraging API and web services.
• Exhibited understanding of complex, granular roles and permissions administration
• Experience with large scale Content Management Systems
• Experience with large scale document or asset management systems

Five years of experience in programming applications systems using relevant technologies and programming languages; OR, an Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field AND four years of experience in programming applications systems using relevant technologies and programming languages; OR, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field AND two years of experience in programming applications systems using relevant technologies and programming languages; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a related field
• Experience Administering Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
• Experience developing both JSX and JSP customizations for AEM
