Position Summary

FSO Information Technology (FSOIT) is a full-service technology team that supports the Financial Services Office and by extension the entire campus. The FSOIT Development team is looking for an individual that can assist in upgrading and maintaining current Django/Python applications. FSOIT prides itself on well written, full featured, secure applications that simplify departmental tasks, as well as maintaining a documented and training-friendly environment. We have created a development infrastructure around the Django framework in the Python language and have many applications that need to be upgraded to the current development platform.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participates as a team member in upgrading applications currently in production.
  • Facilitates team building through contribution and collaboration.
  • Designs information architecture and databases associated with applications.
  • Assisting the project manager and team members in coordinating with the customer base for resolutions, status, and documentation.
  • Analyzing and resolving identified issues; providing production support and tracks issues.
  • Maintaining software code, queries, and reports and program applications using current tools and languages.
  • Works with other developers, providing and receiving peer review of code.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of current and emerging application programming and scripting languages and techniques.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging security and service protocols.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming languages and concepts.
  • Proven track record with successful software development projects.
  • Experience with version control.
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in programming applications systems using current technology and programming languages; OR, Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field AND two years of applications systems programming experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Comfortable with directly contacting and resolving customer generated issues.
  • Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience, code samples, and/or industry activities.
  • Experience with one or more of the following; Python, Django, AngularJS, Vagrant, Git, Gitflow, Apache, Nginx, SQL, Bootstrap, Vue, C#, Sentry.
  • Experience with MVC, ORM, and REST concepts.
