Position Summary

The University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC) is seeking a Research Computing Specialist, Senior. The UACC is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer through patient care, research, and education.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform computational research activities in support of funded projects, with the expectation of generating data for publication and presentation.
  • Compile and evaluate research data and produce figures/summaries for presentation and publication.
  • Assist principal investigator and other personnel in preparation of reports.
  • There may be additional duties assigned as it relates to this position.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of scientific analysis and statistical methods.
  • Skill in computer related research design and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline requiring the use of advanced levels of computational methods and resources, two (2) years of applied research, and two (2) years of related practical research computing experience; OR, Master’s degree in any discipline requiring the use of advanced levels of computational methods and resources, one (1) year of applied research, and one (1) year of related practical research computing experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
