Position Summary

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at The University of Arizona has two post-doctoral research positions available.

Established in 2009, the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) is the newest engineering department in the College of Engineering and is uniquely positioned within the University of Arizona to carry out interdisciplinary research at the intersection of medicine, science, and engineering. The Department of Biomedical Engineering is closely aligned and geographically adjacent to the University of Arizona College of Medicine and the Banner University Medical Center. Duties & Responsibilities

1) Development of high-speed and quantitative MRI technologies;

2) Application of MRI to studies of neurological disorders..

The studies will be conducted in a research- dedicated 3 Tesla human MRI system and a 7 Tesla animal scanner.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. (Biomedical Engineering, Physics, and related fields) or M.D. is required.
  • Knowledge in MRI physics is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in pulse sequence programming, numerical computation, and signal processing is highly preferred.
