University Information Technology Services (UITS), within the University of Arizona, is soliciting applications for the position of Business Analyst, Senior.

The Business Analyst, Senior is part of a team which provides functional support for various systems and/or applications by being the main liaison between business users and technical teams to identify analyze and translate needs into specifications. The Business Analyst, Senior may also lead teams as a project manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This position requires basic accounting skills and the University is committed to train the successful candidate in the systems being supported.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Works closely with functional users and subject matter experts to gather, analyze and document requirements and specifications for assigned projects.
•Performs application and business process research to determine the best solution available or the best alternative to accomplish the goals of assigned projects; prepares related reports; this may result in business process or system changes
•Developing and lead execution of test scripts
•Provides customer support to campus users, business offices and internal teams to include technical assistance, training and instruction.
•Assist/lead assessments of integration points for assigned module or applications
•Assist/lead assessments of configuration and security setups
•Other duties as necessary in relation to production support, system enhancements, and upgrades.
•Basic knowledge of accounts payable , the procurement process, and financial system processing.

•Able to thrive in a team environment and work collaboratively with a diverse range of people
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Excellent customer service skills

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or related field AND three years of experience in procedural, management or business analysis work; OR, seven years of experience in procedural, management or business analysis work; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience with enterprise financial applications (e.g., Kuali Financial System).
•Experience in Higher Education accounting practices and requirements.
