The University of Arizona Arthritis Center is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The successful candidate will be involved in collaborative and independent research studying osteoarthritis outcomes and orthopedic outcomes.Applicants must have a strong background in medical imaging (preferably in musculoskeletal imaging) or in post-acquisition processing of 3T MRI images. Applicants must hold an M.D. or Ph.D. in Physics or a related field. Applicants should have peer-­reviewed publications in internationally recognized journals.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform post-acquisition processing of 3T knee MRI images.
  • Perform collaborative research related to osteoarthritis, orthopedics and medical imaging.
  • Participate in the preparation of research publications, reports, grants and presentations.
  • Collaborate in the planning and design of activities in the research project(s).
  • Participate in group meetings and seminars.
  • Present work at professional conferences.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • M.D. or Ph.D. degree in Medical Science, Epidemiology, Anatomy or related field AND a minimum of two years clinical experience, preferably in Medical Imaging, Rheumatology or Orthopaedic Surgery
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with post-acquisition processing of MRI images.
  • Experience with clinical research in musculoskeletal imaging or osteoarthritis.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Advanced knowledge of current research in Medical Imaging, Rheumatology or Orthopaedic Surgery.
  • Prior experience publishing in peer¬reviewed journals as a first author.
