Position Summary

Please Note: This position has been reopened and the review date has been extended to 8/16/17.

Under supervision, performs work of routine difficulty with extensive public contact related to the receipt and accountability of monies received from the garages.

This will be a mid-shift position, generally starting at between 9 and noon. and ending between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. The end time is dependent on the start time, staffing or needs of the department, some closing shifts may be required.

This position is for an Academic year work schedule. (Aug-May with summer off)

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collects money for parking fees in visitor garages.
  • Records visitor reservations and other garage validations.
  • Reconciles daily sales and cash drawer.
  • Monitors stock of forms, pamphlets and general information flyers.
  • Assists Customer Relations area as needed, with receiving monies from sales of parking permits, athletic season parking passes, bus passes and citations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of cashier/teller procedures.
  • Proven customer relations skills.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
  • Prior computer experience.
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Two years of related clerical experience, which includes six months counting, receiving or disbursing money; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of parking and transportation programs and procedures.
  • Knowledge of money-handling procedures.
  • At least one (1) year of experience as a cashier or teller, which includes selling products or services, daily balancing out of cash drawer and entering data in computer system.
  • General knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
