A postdoctoral position funded by an R01 and R21 grant is available in summer 2017 to study how gut commensals act as an environmental cue to affect the development of autoimmune arthritis and lung disease. We are looking for a highly motivated PhD graduate with immunology, or biomedical science background. Experience with flow cytometry and mouse models is highly desired. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Become an active member of the lab that works independently under the supervision of the principal investigator.
  • Design and conduct experiments, evaluate the data, and keep appropriate records of all research activities.
  • Stay current with the scientific literature, participate in scientific discussions with other members of the lab and department and attend mandatory lab meetings.
  • Assist with the generation of stock reagents as well as the maintenance of the general lab operation.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as it relates to this position.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Experience with modern molecular biology, immunological and tissue culture techniques.
  • Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail, proactive attitude, very good documentation skills, great interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a collaborative manner.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, mouse genetics or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of immunologic concepts.
  • Familiarity with flow cytometry.
  • Experience with mouse models.
