Position Summary

The University Information Technology Services (UITS) seeks to fill a position for a Web Analyst within the Campus Web Services Team. Applicants will be selected for the position level based on qualifications and/or experience. The successful applicant will analyze and recommend web best practices and help to deliver web products and services managed by Campus Web Services. Collaborates with site owners, sponsors, vendors, designers and developers regarding site requirements and ensures that websites are accessible, mobile responsive and optimized for user experience and web hosting. The Web Analyst will also help to provide project management for Campus Web Services. The position also provides customer service support to clients supported by Campus Web Services.

Please note: This position is a year to year appointment and is currently planned for a 2-year duration. Future workforce planning efforts and the availability of funding will determine if the position will continue beyond the initial 2-year period.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Research, analyzes & documents product and service requirements for Campus Web Services, and works with team to deliver requirements.
• Participates in planning, scheduling, developing and presenting training programs. Trains clients and vendors on web best practices while helping to ensure that sites are accessible, mobile responsive and on brand.
• Conducts, analyzes and generates reports for site testing, which includes performance testing, usability testing and focus groups. Some occasional site testing and support occurs remotely outside of regular business hours.
• Participates in user experience and quality assurance activities, using personas, user stories and use case analysis.
• Works with teams across campus to identify high quality consistent optimized web best practices, including SEO and site analytics.
• Provides support and documentation for website clients, while helping to triage and troubleshoot issues.
• Helps with project management for web projects using agile project management techniques.
• Manages client and vendor relationships to ensure needs are being met, including SLA and SOW development and review.
• Helps to improve and document processes and mitigate security risks.
• Helps to provide assistance and guidance for student workers.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or related field AND one year of experience in procedural, management or business analysis work; OR, Five years of experience in procedural, management or business analysis work; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of project management concepts
• Knowledge of web standards and protocols including mobile responsive usability and accessibility standards
• Ability to work with diverse team members/users
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Skill in consulting with users regarding web site development and hosting projects
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently in demanding environments
• Skill in writing charters, SOWs, documenting workflow and creating workflow or site architecture diagrams
• Knowledge of project management concepts
• Knowledge of web standards and protocols including mobile responsive usability and accessibility standards
• Ability to work with diverse team members/users
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Skill in consulting with users regarding web site development and hosting projects
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently in demanding environments
• Skill in writing charters, SOWs, documenting workflow and creating workflow or site architecture diagrams
• Knowledge of user interface design and usability testing
• Experience with Content Management Systems, such as Drupal
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, and Microsoft Project (or similar products)
• Experience with web analytics and SEO
• Knowledge of principles and techniques used in performing web analysis
