Position Summary

This position enforces University, State and Federal Laws and regulations to protect life and property and serve the University Community during Special Events.

The Mission of the University of Arizona Police Department is to provide a secure atmosphere conducive to the education, research, employment and daily lifestyles of the University Community; deliver high-quality, efficient, professional, and consistent services to all University of Arizona students, faculty, staff, and visitors; and proactively build and strengthen community partnerships and engage the community through education and awareness to reduce crime.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications

* Must be currently employed and commissioned as a peace officer for the State of Arizona by a metropolitan police agency.

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications
  • Certification from Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training (AZ POST*); OR, equivalent out-of-state certification (must obtain AZ POST certification within six months from hire date). Possession of a current Arizona Type D driver’s license upon employment.
  • United States citizenship required. AZ Post certification requires a person to have reached age twenty-one (21) by the completion of the academy. No felony convictions. No dishonorable military discharge.
