The Applications Systems Analyst/Developer, Senior will be part of a dynamic, quick-paced programming team. Student Affairs Student Group provides support and custom programming for many offices in Student Affairs. This person will be responsible for creating new applications that will solve business work flow problems and automate business processes and maintain existing applications and websites at the University of Arizona. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, able to multitask, and able to provide rapid implementation and deployment of business critical processes.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Modifies, writes new code and deploys to production.
  • Thoroughly tests and coordinates testing of modifications and new systems.
  • Provides application technical assistance to users.
  • Develops code in aspx.Net technologies using Visual Studio.
  • Assists in developing departmental websites and .Net website applications.
  • Assists in problem solving in areas such as system design, input/output requirements and procedural flow.
  • Troubleshoots and fixes problems in existing systems and deploys fixes to production.
  • As a functional team coordinator, the developer will assist in scheduling and monitoring planning and designing, analyzing, implementing and testing applications in response to user requests and requirements.
  • Defines application systems project scope and desired outcomes.
  • Designs and implements new applications as assigned.
  • Works from provided functional specifications.
  • Maintains existing code.
  • Performs research as necessary into correct tool sets and methodologies needed to accomplish stated specifications.
  • Participates in team learning activities.
  • Performs code review as assigned.
  • Responds to suggestions from code reviews on own work.
  • Participates in the code design process as needed.
  • Learns and implements new technologies as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience coding using aspx.Net technologies and Visual Studio.
  • Skill in effectively communicating technical information to non-technical users.
  • Skill in analyzing data management systems to develop automated solutions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple, dynamic priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in developing mid to large scale applications.
  • Experience in developing website applications.
  • Experience with coding SQL procedures.
  • Experience with implementing programming and website security best practices.
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Five years of experience in programming applications systems using relevant technologies and programming languages; OR, an Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field AND four years of experience in programming applications systems using relevant technologies and programming languages; OR, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field AND two years of experience in programming applications systems using relevant technologies and programming languages; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
