Position Summary

The University of Arizona Athletics Department is seeking several qualified applicants to work on an on-call basis at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center. This is a non benefits-eligible, ancillary position, working under 20 hours per week. The position is intended to assist the aquatic facilities operation staff with daily maintenance, event preparation, and event execution. The position requires light maintenance, cleaning and lifting of pool equipment. Flexibility in scheduling is required as hours can be irregular and may involve nights and weekends.

Note: On call staff may be scheduled to work on special events, or as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining the pools, equipment and the surrounding areas of the aquatic center.
  • Assist with setup and tear-down of all applicable events.
  • Remain on-call during aquatic events.
  • Perform other duties that are applicable to the department’s needs.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

No prior experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • W.S.I. Certification
  • Lifeguard Certification
  • First Aid Certification
  • Experience with swimming and diving events, Colorado Timing equipment and/or experience in an aquatic setting (example: lifeguard experience, repair and maintenance, facility management).
